Registered Nurse needed to act as a CNA Coordinate for a higher learning institution in South Houston on a long term basis. Position will be part-time and will not exceed 19.5 hours weekly. Duties will include planning, coordinating, facilitating, administering, and monitoring clinical activities on behalf of the program and in coordination with the program's faculty. Performing responsibilities consistent with accreditation agency standards and guidelines, and institutional policy. Acting as an intermediary among the appropriate parties to facilitate the acquisition of clinical education agreements; selecting clinical education sites that demonstrate characteristics of sound patient/client management, ethical and professional behavior, and currency with practice. Establishing, developing, and maintaining an adequate number of clinical education sites relationships relative to quality, quantity and diversity of long term care learning experiences (meets student competency requirements i.E., continuum of care, commonly seen diagnoses, across the lifespan, health care delivery systems, payers, cultural competence issues) to meet provide the educational needs of students and the program, the philosophy and outcomes of the program, and evaluative criteria. Will facilitate assessment of the clinical education component. Communicating news, current information, and changes influenced by accreditation among all concerned stakeholders. Maintaining current knowledge of the educational program requirements, the clinical education sites, and health care changes affecting clinical practice and education. Providing ongoing communication with each clinical education site. Ensuring that all clinical instructors and students are in compliance with the site-specific requirements for the site to which they are assigned. Providing program and clinical specific training to classroom and clinical instructors, preceptors, and students.
