One of Houston's premier OB/GYN practices located in the Medical Center is currently is seeking a Surgery Scheduler or Surgery Coordinator. Great opportunity to utilize your experience in a professional setting with a well-established and expanding practice. Will confer with patients to derive medical history and previous surgery information from them.
Answer questions regarding paperwork involved for compliance with surgical procedures. Identify available times for surgeries for patients and schedule surgeries based on surgeons' schedules and available dates.
Order patients' tests such as complete blood counts and ultrasound scans
Assist patients in filling out forms and collect fees such as co-pays.
Respond to patients' queries regarding surgery times and what to ingest (or not) prior to a surgery.
Ascertain that all consent forms are filled out and signed prior to scheduled surgeries.
Provide pre op and post op instructions. Schedule post-surgical appointments with doctors and necessary tests.
Review prior authorizations for surgery.

Must have at least one year of surgery scheduling experience
Experience in OB/GYN is a strong plus
Service driven candidate
Requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills and computer literacy
This position requires frequent interaction with peer groups, subordinates and senior management advising on area of responsibility.
Commitment to position and company on a long term basis
Ability to be entrusted with confidential information
