Insurance Verification Specialist needed at a busy Ophthalmology practice in Bellaire, TX. Applicant should be dependable and a self-starter. Considered candidates MUST have a very strong background in insurance verification. This is an excellent career opportunity for a responsible individual. Responsibilities include Verifying eligibility and benefits prior to patient's visit
Obtaining prior authorizations or referrals for patient's treatment
Determining provider participation status with payer
Contacting patients regarding their insurance benefits
Verifying worker's compensation claims
Entering patient's demographics into billing system and updating information as needed
Answering patients' inquiries regarding coverage, out of pocket expense or referrals
Working up charts.
Greet patients as they arrive for appointments, answer phones and schedule new and follow-up appointments

REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years' medical office experience within a clinical setting
High school diploma required
Ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required
Strong Insurance Verification is required
Must understand insurance, copays and deductibles
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and computer literacy
Must be comfortable with frequent interaction with peer groups, subordinates and senior management advising on area of responsibility
Exceptional ability to work collaboratively and constructively.
