Financial Clearance Associate’s Responsibilities
- Verify the eligibility or benefits, pre-authorization requirements, available payment options, financial counseling, and other identified financial clearance-related duties
- Collaborate with patient access, payors, third-party vendors, patients, and any other representatives internal or external to the institution to financially clear patients for care
- Escalate financial clearance issues to the supervisor or coordinator for resolution
Financial Clearance Associate’s Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required; an associate degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is preferred
- Three (3) years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field is required
- Five (5) years of business experience in healthcare or insurance is preferred
- CHAA or CHAM certifications by the National Association of Healthcare Access Management is highly preferred
