Job Description
One of the premier Dentistry clinics in the San Antonio area is seeking a Certified Medical Coder will be reviewing inpatient and outpatient coding, ensure coding guidelines and policy changes are being followed.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews, interprets, and assigns diagnostic and procedural codes based upon medical record documentation according to correct coding principles.
- Abstracts complex patient-related data from medical records and coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Works coding related charge review and claim edits daily to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Researches and resolves coding related issues, and assists in meeting productivity and quality standards
- Verifies charge entry and physician notes for completeness to include abstracting and entering relevant medical information from the medical records; checks for required signatures; assures proper documentation guidelines are followed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Three (3) years of experience in medical records abstraction and coding is required.
- Must be a Certified Medical Coder through an organization such as AAPC, AHIMA or NHA.
- Must have completed High School Diploma or GED.
Benefits and Perks:
- $26.00/hr. - $30.00/hr.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $26.00 – $30.00 not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
