Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist specializing in Hand Therapy to join a leading healthcare organization. This role involves performing patient evaluations, developing and administering treatment plans, collaborating with front office staff for service authorizations, and serving as a clinical resource for staff and program development. The position offers a flexible Monday–Friday daytime schedule in an engaging outpatient environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations and deliver evidence-based hand therapy interventions for patients in an outpatient setting
- Collaborate with front office staff on service authorizations, certifications, and recertifications
- Fabricate custom orthotics/splints as needed
- Serve as a clinical specialist and resource to staff, assisting with performance improvement, research, and education
- Ensure compliance with practice acts, departmental policies, documentation, and reimbursement guidelines
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BS/MS in Occupational Therapy and current Texas OT license
- Basic Life Support certification from an AHA-approved program
- Minimum 4 years OT experience, or 1 year OT experience with 6 years COTA experience (bridge program completion required for COTA pathway)
- Extensive experience in outpatient hand therapy and orthotic/splint fabrication
- CHT certification preferred or actively working toward certification
- Strong communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred
