Job Description
One of the government organizations located in the Houston area is seeking a Medical Billing Assistant to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement by applying payer-specific rules to claims, resolving complex claim issues, and managing accounts receivable. Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely medical billing by applying payer-specific rules and guidelines to insurance claims.
- Analyze and resolve complex claim issues to minimize denials and delays in reimbursement.
- Manage accounts receivable to optimize cash flow and maintain the organization’s financial health.
- Monitor payer trends and adjust billing practices to ensure compliance with evolving requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and payers to expedite claim resolution and payment posting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- One to Two years of Medical Billing Assistant experience within a healthcare setting.
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis
Benefits and Perks:
- $20.00/hr.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position, which is $20.00/hr. not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
