Job Description:
As a Patient Services Representative I, you will be the first point of contact for patients by providing professional and welcoming service. This role involves patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Handle patient calls, schedule/reschedule appointments, and address inquiries
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations or referrals
- Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service
- Check patients in and out, maintain accurate records, and support general office duties
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 6 months in a medical front office, patient registration, or scheduling role; OR 2 years of direct customer service experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
