One of the most established healthcare organizations in the Houston area is teaming up with Team1Medical to seek an Insurance Verification Specialist who will contact a patient’s insurance company to verify coverage levels and work with individuals to educate them on their benefits information. Insurance Verification Specialist’s Responsibilities
- Perform regular follow-up calls with insurance companies to check the status of the insurance requests.
- Comply with pre-certification information and forward to the insurance company to establish medical necessity and prior approval.
- Handle activities related to verification of insurance benefits for patients, if necessary.
- Communicate with patients directly when necessary to obtain additional insurance information.
Insurance Verification Specialist’s Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous insurance verification experience is required.
- EMR: Epic and/or Physician office experience is a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are highly preferred.
