Lead Patient Escort’s Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive orientation and ongoing training to contingency patient escorts, ensuring everyone is well-prepared for their roles.
- Demonstrate the ability to transport patients and specimens safely and promptly, adhering to all relevant protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment needed to transport patients, ensuring it is used correctly and effectively.
- Encourage collaboration and seek input from all team members; foster a supportive and inclusive team environment.
Lead Patient Escort’s Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Two (2) years of patient transportation, healthcare, or hospitality experience; at least 1 lead or training previous role is highly preferred.
- CPR and Heart Saver with Automated External Defibrillator Certifications are required.
- The ability to push at least 250 lbs. via wheelchair is required.
- The ability to navigate the facility independently, good communication skills, and a great demeanor are required.
