Job Description
- Maintain knowledge of CDC-recommended vaccines and administers age-appropriate immunizations
- Interview clients and document medical/psychosocial information in the electronic medical records
- Assist with patient appointments by performing phlebotomy (including capillary and venous draws), urine collection, pregnancy tests, vital signs, patient histories, etc.
- Participate in performing quality assurance and checks on lab specimens and preparing specimens for transport
- Administer/read tuberculosis skin tests as needed
- Dispense prescribed medication according to Pharmacy D regulations and HCPH procedures and protocols
- Maintain confidentiality of client’s information
- Two years of work experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a clinic or physician office setting
- Must be comfortable with commuting throughout the Harris County area and work without a set schedule. Flexibility is a must!
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
