Job Description
We are currently seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide safe, compassionate nursing care as a member of the profession, provider of patient-centered care, patient safety advocate, and member of the health care team to serve the Refugee Clinic patients seeking refugee health screening services.
Responsibilities
- Assists with patient screening (i.e., drawing blood, testing urine, taking/recording vital signs, and performing vision and hearing assessment).
- Document in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, & Immtrac2 confirming immunizations are up to date.
- Assists with control of patient flow at community events and providing appropriate patient education on vaccines.
- Assists with medical inventory, including but not limited to vaccines and oral medications, ordering, and ensuring the team is appropriately stocked.
- Participates in performing quality assurance with packaging lab specimens and vaccines for transport.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate degree or diploma in Nursing
- Current licensure as an LVN in the State of Texas by the Texas Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
- One (1) year of experience as an LVN in an outpatient clinic setting
- Valid TX Driver's License
- Preferred experience as an LVN in a public health setting, low-income population-serving clinic, or related field
- Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic/Vietnamese or other language)
- Preferred Experience working in refugee and/or global health

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
