Medical Assistant - Allergy Shots

Job Description
- Escort patients back to the shot room
- Obtain patient history and obtains vital signs
- Confirm allergy vial(s) with patients
- Perform subcutaneous and intradermal injections
- Enter immunization information and documents in Allergy Edge
- Place orders for new allergy vials and supplies
- Check new allergy vials in Allergy Edge upon their arrival
- Provide counseling to non-compliant injection patients
- Check vial(s) expiration dates
- Provide patient teaching regarding allergy injections expectations and reactions
- ePrescribe prescriptions to patient's pharmacy for preferred Epinephrine device and antihistamine as per protocol
- Knows the protocol for action required in the event of a systemic or anaphylactic reaction
- 2+ years of recent Medical Assistant experience
- Experience in an ENT or surgical practice is highly preferred
- Current CPR [Cardiopulmonary resuscitation] Certificate
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
- Knowledge of Allergy Edge is a strong plus
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

- The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 am – 5 pm with NO WEEKENDS!
