Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to support daily operations in a busy clinical setting. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key part in ensuring a positive, efficient patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring all registration forms and documentation are completed accurately
- Collect copays and assist patients with questions or needs upon arrival
- Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally
- Create and verify full patient registration, including insurance information
- Communicate with benefit coordinators when new or updated insurance is obtained
- Notify providers of patient arrival, needs, or special requests
- Prepare patient charts and request medical records from outside providers
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments and assist with referrals and authorizations as needed
- Monitor patient flow, place patients into exam rooms when appropriate, and keep patients informed of wait times
- Follow up on missed appointments via phone or mail
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of related medical office or healthcare administrative experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work within schedule constraints
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

The base pay range for this position is $16-$19, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
