Job Description
Join our dedicated team at the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) office in northwest Houston, TX, where we’re committed to promoting the health and well-being of our community. We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Nutritionist to provide high-quality nutritional counseling and support to WIC participants, including pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct nutrition assessments and provide individualized counseling to WIC participants
- Develop nutrition care plans and follow up with clients as needed
- Promote breastfeeding and provide support to nursing mothers
- Educate clients on healthy eating, infant and child feeding practices, and food safety
- Collaborate with WIC staff to deliver quality services and maintain program compliance
- Document client interactions accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
- Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for public health and serving diverse populations
