Job Description
A well know orthopedic clinic is partnering with Team1Medical to seek an Orthopedic Cast Tech to join their team for temporary coverage! The Orthopedic Cast Tec will perform apply and remove cast and splints in a high volume clinic setting
Responsibilities:
- Apply, adjust, and remove plaster, fiberglass, splint, and cast devices under supervision of physicians or senior staff
- Fit and measure patients for braces, splints, and other orthopedic devices.
- Provide patient education: care of casts/splints, wound care, proper use of walking aids (crutches, walkers, etc.).
- Assist physicians in minor procedures: staple/suture removal, dressing changes.
- Maintain cast room, supply inventory; sterilize instruments and ensure cleanliness of work area.
- Document services rendered in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in patient flow: rooming, preparing patients for treatment, helping with imaging/X-rays as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required and a certification from an accredited Orthopedic Technologist program is required
- Two (2) years of Orthopedic Technician experience within an orthopedic practice is required
- Demonstrated knowledge and working experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is required
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication and time management skills are required
