Pharmacy Program Specialist II | $24.24 per hour | Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM | Fully On-site | Temporary

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch); Off Saturday & Sunday or Saturday–Wednesday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch); Off Thursday & Friday

Job Description:
A healthcare organization is seeking a Pharmacy Program Specialist II to support department needs by managing prior authorizations, coordinating communication between members and providers.
A healthcare organization is seeking a Pharmacy Program Specialist II to support department needs by managing prior authorizations, coordinating communication between members and providers.
Responsibilities:
- Process prior authorization requests for medications covered under the medical benefit.
- Respond to inquiries related to pharmacy and medical drug benefits.
- Collaborate with the PBM to resolve issues involving drug coverage, copays, prior authorizations, and appeals.
- Ensure all authorization and appeal requests are completed within required turnaround times.
- Manage and communicate override and approval decisions to PBM partners to facilitate timely medication access.
- Conduct outreach to members and providers to resolve medical request issues within established timeframes.
- Engage members and providers as directed to support and improve medication adherence.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Three (3) years of Healthcare plan experience is required.
- A bachelor's degree in the healthcare field or Business Administration is required.
- Active licensure as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
