Precertification Specialist

Job Description
- Obtain precertification and prior authorization for surgery, tests, and injectables
- Collect information required to obtain precertification or prior authorization including clinical dictation and test results
- Organize upcoming and future surgeries and procedure requests within the practice management system
- Provide accurate information to insurance companies based on test results, clinical dictation, etc.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for each scheduled surgical procedure and tests
- Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through resolving the situation at hand
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred
- Proficient knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, and computer skills is required
- Must be prepared for occasional stooping, bending, and being able to lift 50 lbs. of boxes
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License as some traveling is required
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
