Job Description
As the Vascular Tech, you will perform and administer various tests on patients seeking cardiovascular treatment, schedule appointments, and collaborate with the cardiologists to ensure the patient receives proper treatment after diagnosis. Responsibilities:
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and bubble studies to evaluate patients’ hearts
- Evaluate medical images for clarity and forward the best pictures to cardiologists
- Support the cardiologists in their diagnoses by reviewing images with them and highlighting any abnormalities or areas of concern
- Schedule medical imaging appointments for patients
- Explain medical imaging testing procedures to patients and answer any questions the patients may have about the tests
- Maintain the ultrasound and echocardiogram machines; Follow setup and storage procedures, calibrate machines, clean, and sterilize equipment, and report any issues with machines to supervisors
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular technology, echocardiography, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related field is required; A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
- A current and valid certificate of completion from an accredited Cardiac Sonographer or Echocardiography program is required
- License to practice as a Cardiac Sonographer is required
- RVT Certification is required
- Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are highly preferred
